CARBO Ceramics is proud to announce that our Eufaula, Alabama plant has officially received our NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification for potable water applications. This milestone means that all sizes larger than 16/20 mesh in our CARBOBEAD® LT ceramic media are now NSF61-certified – broadening the scope of our trusted product line and reinforcing our commitment to quality in water filtration.

This certification complements our existing NSF61-certified production at our Toomsboro, Georgia facility, where mesh sizes 16/20 and smaller have already been approved for use in drinking water systems. Together, these certifications allow us to better serve our water filtration customers with a reliable, U.S.-made solution that is engineered for durability, purity, and consistent hydraulic performance.

Where Our Ceramic Beads Are Used

CARBOBEAD LT is widely used in gravel pack applications for water well filter screens, providing a high-performance alternative to glass beads, sand and gravel. The beads’ uniformity coefficient promotes even flow distribution, extends system lifespan, and helps reduce maintenance frequency. Beyond groundwater filtration, our ceramic media is also ideal for use in municipal water utilities, industrial waste-water filtration, and desalination plants.
